Reading Room: My Reckless Heart by Jo Goodman
My reading tastes don't often turn to sensual books such as what Goodman writes, but I make an exception for this author. I have yet been able to pinpoint what I enjoy about her writing, but every one of her books draws me into the story. The style? The characters? The plots? All of it? I don't care. If she writes the book, I'll read it. I read My Reckless Heart on my tablet. It's book two in the Thorne Brothers trilogy. Book one is great, too, but in this one . . . there's just something about Decker. Yes, I am SLOWLY going to read the hundreds of e-books I have purchased over the years. I manage one e-book for about every ten print books, but I will get there.
Decker Thorne learned early life lessons on the streets of London, stealing to earn his way. That devil-to-pay existence does not prepare him for someone like Jonna Remington, a fiercely independent woman who is not impressed with his charm or cunning. As owner of Remington Shipping, what Jonna needs is Decker's deft touch at the helm of her finest clipper.
With the Remington fortune riding on Decker's success, Jonna is vulnerable and beholding, and when her daring plan gives rise to new dangers, it is Decker who puts his life on the line to save hers. On board Huntress, the clipper she owns but where he is master, Decker can keep her safe from everyone but himself. As they make the Atlantic crossing from Boston to London, Jonna must decide how safe she wants to be, or if Decker has stolen the one thing she did not know she had to give... her own reckless heart.
Content: Very Sensual
The Reading Room is where I share books, because authors are readers, too! I don't review books on my blog, but I do like to share books I've read and enjoyed. I call it "sharing the book love." My tastes are eclectic, so expect to see everything from sweet, wholesome romance to edge-of-your-seat, sexy thrillers.
