Favorite Childhood Books ~ #UpbeatAuthors

The most beloved books from my childhood were those in the Brambly Hedge series.

I enjoyed a great many wonderful books in my childhood, but those I remember most are the Brambly Hedge series by Jill Barklem. Most notably the first ones: Spring Story, Summer Story, Autumn Story, Winter Story, and The Secret Staircase. I remember practicing my writing as a child by copying the text from The Secret Staircase. Sadly, the talented author behind this beloved series passed away in November 2017, but her work will live on in my heart—and millions of others—for many lifetimes.
