Happy birthday to BLACKWOOD CROSSING, published on this day in 2014.
Rhona and Charles . . . Did you know that both my editor and beta reader (aka my mother) did not like Rhona in the first draft? My editor was more delicate in the telling, but the word "mean" was used more than once. Actually, I liked Rhona 1.0, but I LOVE Rhona 2.0. As always, their valuable insight led to some fantastic rewrites. Rhona became the woman she was meant to be all along, and she retained her independent spirit while living and loving alongside Charles Blackwood, the dashing man of her past, and dreams. Add in Scotland, their wild adventures, a dark mystery, and this remains one of my favorite books.
